Education and Skill Development

A generation of women and girls are at risk of being left outside the labor force or trapped in vulnerable or low quality employment, due to a lack of skills, absence of quality jobs, and gendered expectations of their roles. At I AM A LEADER, we agree with the research around the lost economic potential carried by the global economy due to the lack of equitable and inclusive participation of women. If women engaged in economic activity on the same level as men, the world would add $11 trillion in annual 2025 GDP (Center for Strategies and International Studies).

Our education and skill development programs focus on developing real-world skills that will help students at all levels, K-12 – postsecondary pursuits to lead exceptional lives in a rapidly changing world. We also offer leadership development training to young women who are in the early development phases of their career pathway planning.  More and more research highlights the enduring benefits to both women and their organizations of developing female talent early. A recent KPMG study of more than 3,000 women found that early development of leadership skills boosted women’s confidence and competence. Eighty percent of respondents to the study believe that the most important time to support a woman’s career development is in her 20s.
